Salary: USD 85,000 - 110,000 / annual

Ixana is a Purdue University spinoff pioneering brain-inspired wearable computing. The company has developed Wi-R, a patented non-radiative near-field communication technology that is 100x more energy-efficient than Bluetooth or Wi-Fi. Wi-R enables secure "wire-like wireless" experiences through small E-field bubbles around the body, achieving sub-0.1 nanojoules per bit and making long-term wearable and implantable devices practical. In this role, you will lead bare-metal bring-up of Wi-R System-on-Chips (SoCs) and Cortex-M/RISC-V platforms. You'll build and optimize low-power firmware stacks including I²C, SPI, BLE, DMA, sensor drivers, and power domain management. You'll architect and deliver a production-ready firmware SDK used by Tier-1 hardware partners, debug at the register level using oscilloscopes and JTAG tools, and mentor junior developers while contributing to code reviews, toolchain decisions, and quality standards. Required qualifications include experience with embedded firmware for wearables, robotics, medical, or IoT devices; strong C/C++ skills with deep MCU debugging experience; and bare-metal embedded C expertise. Preferred experience includes RTOS, BLE stack customization, neural/biometric sensing, PCB-level hardware familiarity, embedded Linux, and SDK development for third-party use. Compensation includes a base salary of $85,000–$110,000 annually, early-stage equity, and an 8–30% performance-based bonus.
