Salary: USD 166,000 - 220,000 / annual
Anduril Industries is a defense technology company transforming U.S. and allied military capabilities through advanced technology. The company develops Lattice OS, an AI-powered operating system that integrates thousands of data streams into a real-time 3D command and control center for military systems.
The DeviceOS team develops the operating system powering Anduril's robots and robotics platforms across land, sea, and air. As an Embedded Linux Engineer, you will own the full lifecycle of software development projects including design, implementation, automated testing, field testing, and deployment support.
Key responsibilities include:
- Board bring-up and maintenance on embedded ARM boards (device trees, bootloaders, kernel drivers)
- Customizing vendor BSPs for use with NixOS systems
- Securing embedded Linux systems and triaging vulnerability reports
- Mitigating vulnerabilities by patching system components
Required qualifications:
- Experience with Linux kernel development
- Familiarity with uboot, EDK2, platform firmware
- Experience with C or Rust
- Interest in using Nix/NixOS as an alternative to Yocto, buildroot
- Ability to triage vulnerability reports and patch system components
- U.S. Person status (required for access to export-controlled data)
Preferred qualifications include experience developing embedded Linux systems using Yocto or buildroot, familiarity with packaging CUDA libraries, functional programming paradigms, and languages such as C++, Python, Go, or Haskell.
