Anduril Industries is a defense technology company transforming U.S. and allied military capabilities through advanced autonomous systems, AI, and real-time command and control platforms. The Connected Warfare team builds systems that give warfighters a decisive edge—fusing sensor data, communications, and autonomy into deployable hardware for contested environments.
As an Embedded Firmware Engineer, you'll write real-time microcontroller code that runs closest to the hardware, developing drivers for sensors and peripherals while debugging cross-disciplinary problems at the hardware-software boundary. You'll work directly alongside electrical engineers on board bring-up, reading schematics and datasheets to bring new hardware to life. Your code will ship to production systems deployed in the field within months of writing it.
Key responsibilities include:
- Writing firmware in C for microcontrollers across Connected Warfare platforms
- Developing and integrating reusable device drivers for sensors, peripherals, and communication interfaces
- Debugging issues spanning electrical, firmware, and software boundaries using bench tools and embedded debugging techniques
- Supporting board bring-up alongside the Electrical Engineering team—reviewing schematics, validating interfaces, and getting new hardware running
- Contributing to firmware architecture decisions as the codebase grows
- Shipping code to production systems deployed in the field
Required qualifications: BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent industry experience; 1+ years of firmware or embedded software development (internships and personal projects count); solid C coding ability for embedded systems; experience in bare-metal or RTOS environments; familiarity with common bus protocols (SPI, I2C, UART); willingness to learn and figure things out. Must be a U.S. Person due to required access to U.S. export-controlled information or facilities.
