Scentbird, a fragrance subscription and discovery platform, is seeking an Email Designer to lead the conception and design of email marketing initiatives across its portfolio of brands (Scentbird, Deck of Scarlet, Confessions of a Rebel, Goodhabit, Sanctuary, and Drift).
You will create visually compelling, modern email experiences optimized for both mobile and desktop environments. A core responsibility is leveraging AI design tools (Claude Design and others) to ideate, sketch, and produce finished email designs and campaign flows—moving rapidly from concept to polished, on-brand deliverables while maintaining personal craft and brand voice.
Key responsibilities include:
- Develop a deep understanding of AI design tools and use them as a core part of your workflow to ideate, rough out concepts, and create complete email designs
- Concept, design, and manage email initiatives from weekly/monthly roadmaps, identifying opportunities to increase customer engagement through design
- Present work and articulate your vision and design rationale to cross-functional partners
- Gather design inspiration and lead the team in exploring new email design trends and ideas
- Build and maintain the email UI style guide using Claude Design and Figma, keeping it current with brand and UI standards
- Partner with the product design team to ensure email and web communications feel seamless
- Meet weekly with the Product Designer Director to align on scope, vision, and future email marketing direction
- Collaborate with marketing product owners to understand product initiatives, business requirements, and company goals
- Work with engineers to facilitate smooth transitions from design to build
You will report to and work closely with Team Directors to deliver visionary experiences that exceed customer expectations and advance Scentbird's brand presence.
Requirements:
- 2+ years of email design experience required
- Portfolio demonstrating both agency and in-house work, showcasing at least 15 email projects with in-depth understanding of email design use cases
- Comfortable using AI design tools to explore concepts and produce finished email designs and flows without losing personal craft or brand voice
- Degree in Design, Arts, and/or Digital Design
- Master-level graphic design skills with attention to detail and nuance
- Ability to spot and encourage new design trends in the email space
- Strong storytelling ability within email design
- Ability to think through high-level marketing and company goals and understand email's role in the overall Scentbird experience
- Ability to give and receive creative direction
- Detail-oriented with precision in work quality
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects to meet tight deadlines
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work with internal and external cross-functional teams, both domestically and internationally
