Salary: USD 160,000 - 215,000 / annual
Astranis builds advanced satellites for high orbits, providing dedicated, secure networks to large enterprises, sovereign governments, and the US military. With five satellites on orbit and a backlog exceeding $1 billion in commercial contracts, the company is expanding rapidly.
As Electronics Engineering Manager, you will lead a team of electronics engineers responsible for designing and developing complex satellite hardware systems. Your responsibilities include directly managing, mentoring, and expanding a team of junior and senior engineers; collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to architect next-generation electronic systems; and overseeing the complete lifecycle of electronic hardware from design through verification and production deployment.
You will drive the design process including specifications, component selection, circuit board design, and system-level integration. You'll lead hands-on debugging, board bring-up, and system validation efforts. The role requires managing detailed project schedules to align hardware development with program timelines, recruiting and hiring new team members, and providing expert support to production and operations teams.
Key qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field, 5+ years in fast-paced product design and development, and 5+ years of hands-on experience designing complex electronic hardware from concept to production. You must have proven experience building and managing engineering teams with strong communication skills.
Bonus experience includes photovoltaics, Li-ion batteries and battery management systems, magnetics in power electronics, and knowledge of radiation effects on electronic components. US citizenship or green card required due to space technology export regulations.
