BinSentry is a fast-growing AgTech company based in Kitchener, Ontario, focused on providing solutions for the agriculture supply chain. The company uses artificial intelligence paired with optical sensors to help feed mills, grain handling facilities, and protein producers enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve profitability. BinSentry currently monitors over 45,000 bins in real time across North America and is scaling rapidly.
The Electronics Engineer will be responsible for designing and building hardware that powers the next generation of agricultural supply chain management. This is a hands-on role at the intersection of electrical and quality engineering, requiring deep expertise in PCB design, circuit development, and manufacturing processes.
Key responsibilities include:
- Design digital, analog, and power circuits using Altium
- Conduct system bring-up and validation to ensure designs work as intended
- Ensure designs comply with regulatory requirements
- Create work instructions and documentation for production assembly
- Guide systems through certification and regulatory testing processes
- Run environmental chamber tests to validate system reliability
- Develop documentation for incoming inspection and Statistical Process Control (SPC) systems

REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering
- 5+ years of experience designing electronic systems and PCBs
- Expert proficiency with Altium (schematic capture, PCB layout, component footprint creation)
- Advanced experience with oscilloscopes, multimeters, and related test equipment
- Deep understanding of transistor and op-amp level circuit design
- Proficiency with precision measurement tools (Vernier calipers, micrometers, surface plates)
- Capability to hand-solder small SMD components (0402 or smaller)
- Experience working with prototype PCB contract manufacturers
- Demonstrated knowledge of UART, SPI, I2C, Ethernet protocols, microcontrollers, and switching power supplies
- Some exposure to writing firmware in C on microcontrollers or with an RTOS
- Training and experience applying Statistical Process Control (SPC) to medium-volume manufacturing
- Experience successfully guiding projects through regulatory testing
