Anduril Industries is seeking an Electro-Mechanical Test Engineer to design and develop complex mechanical assemblies and test fixtures for PCBA and product-level test systems. You will work within the electrical test design organization, creating fixtures with tight tolerances, pneumatic and manually actuated assemblies, and mating surfaces for supports, jigs, and clamps. Your expertise in Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Test (DFT) will guide product design teams, while your proficiency with FEA tools enables complex analysis. The team builds large-scale electromechanical fixtures for manufacturing test systems, and your CAD designs, system-level architecture knowledge, and sensor/actuator experience will be critical.
Key responsibilities include designing mechanical assemblies using professional CAD tools; collaborating with rapid fabrication teams and third-party suppliers; integrating designs into Anduril's PLM systems; developing electromechanical systems within multidisciplinary groups; training technicians on equipment; designing next-generation test systems for repeatable and robust product testing; and designing thermal solutions including heatsinks for RF systems, PCBA, and harness designs.
Required qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent; 3+ years of hands-on mechanical engineering experience designing for test and/or manufacturing; expertise in sheet metal design, 3D printing, and CNC machining; experience with contract manufacturers and prototyping; PCBA test fixturing design; familiarity with electronics test equipment (load cells, strain gauges, multimeters); strong root cause analysis skills; excellent communication; PLM experience (Teamcenter or equivalent); proven track record integrating electrical components into mechanical assemblies; GD&T knowledge; MCAD proficiency (NX, SolidWorks, CATIA); and eligibility for U.S. Top Secret security clearance.
Preferred: 5+ years of experience; Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering; mechanical systems testing experience (thermal, vibration); active security clearance; electrical test equipment expertise.
