Salary: USD 105,000 - 135,000 / annual
Amca is building critical components and subsystems for America's defense and aerospace industrial base. The company operates seven factories nationwide and delivers avionics, hydraulic, and electrical components for platforms including the F-35, F-16, F/A-18, 737MAX, 787, A320neo, and military vehicles.
As an Electrical Test Engineer, you will develop both qualification and acceptance testing equipment to validate new electrical product designs. You will work closely with electrical design engineers to create test systems that rapidly ensure the reliability of Amca's products across diverse part categories.
Key responsibilities include:
**Qualification Testing:** Develop rapid solutions for test equipment by working with design engineers to understand end-use applications and develop qualification test plans. You will take full ownership of test bed design and build, including electrical schematic creation, component selection, PCBA layout, and hardware builds. You'll support integration with environmental test equipment (thermal chambers, vibration shakers, shock systems, humidity, salt fog, etc.) and execute qualification tests. You'll also build and deploy necessary software to operate the test beds.
**Acceptance Testing:** Build acceptance test solutions for production by developing test plans with design engineers. Leverage qualification testing equipment to build acceptance testing hardware that optimizes reliability, lead time, and labor. Work closely with Build Engineering and Production teams to ensure electrical tests are production-friendly. Develop software interfaces to simplify test execution.
**Factory Diligence:** Support company development by evaluating product catalogs to identify expansion opportunities and assisting in the evaluation of factory design, manufacturing, and test capabilities.
Required qualifications include experience with electrical design and first-principles thinking applied to power, filtering, logic, software/firmware, and production constraints. You must be proficient in standard software languages (Python, C#, C++, Java, etc.) and experienced in electrical schematic layout, component selection, and simulation. Hands-on debugging skills with oscilloscopes, multimeters, and logic analyzers are essential. You should be exceptionally curious, a fast learner, and comfortable contributing across diverse manufacturing processes. Familiarity with DO-160, MIL-STD, or other qualification frameworks is a plus.
