Boom Supersonic is building Superpower, a 42-megawatt industrial gas turbine derived from supersonic propulsion technology, designed for frontier AI data centers where power demand exceeds grid capacity. This role owns the complete electrical systems design for the turbine's support systems, spanning from 480VAC skid-level power distribution down to 12–28VDC electronics. You will define low-voltage architecture from first principles with no inherited systems to reverse-engineer. During preliminary design, you'll establish LV architecture, single-line diagrams, interface requirements, and operational concepts. In detailed design, you'll produce wiring diagrams, schematics, cable schedules, load lists, I/O lists, and supporting analyses. You'll own first-article build, electrical checkout, troubleshooting, first energization, and commissioning during test—meaning you'll be on-site when systems are energized, tracing signals and solving problems in real time. Your scope includes LV power distribution, conversion, control, and protection across the full voltage range; cable, harness, junction-box, connector, and control-panel architecture for skid-mounted industrial equipment; and grounding, bonding, shielding, and EMI/EMC design practices across power, control, and instrumentation wiring. This is a rare opportunity to own breadth—designing systems that will shape the platform for years, with direct accountability for performance and reliability in a mission-critical application.
