ICEYE is a space-based intelligence and surveillance company delivering synthetic aperture radar (SAR) satellite technology to governments and allied nations. As an Electrical Harness Design Engineer, you will own the electrical harness architecture for ICEYE's satellites, ensuring every interface is reliable, manufacturable, and mission-ready for spaceflight. You will be responsible for creating pin-to-pin harness specifications for new satellite generations and maintaining specifications under strict configuration control. Your day-to-day work includes designing harnesses for complex spacecraft systems, applying EMC/EMI best practices, defining grounding strategies, and collaborating with mechanical design, systems engineering, and manufacturing teams to ensure seamless integration. Key responsibilities include: specifying satellite electrical connections and maintaining configuration control; supporting R&D projects through critical design reviews (CDR/PDR); interfacing with the production line; and working with subsystem engineers to define harness requirements and support interface reviews. You will also maintain and improve harness designs for existing satellite configurations in production. Required qualifications: BSc or MSc in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent); hands-on experience with harness design tools and designing harnesses for complex machines; cable assembly or integration experience; familiarity with aerospace standards (ECSS, NASA, MIL, IPC/WHMA-A-620); R&D project experience; and PLM system knowledge. Nice-to-have skills include aerospace industry background, scripting experience (Python, MATLAB) for design automation, and CAD harness routing experience. The role reports to the Test Engineering Team Lead and is permanent, hybrid-based in Espoo, Finland. Employment is subject to applicable security screening.
