Anduril Industries, a defense technology company, is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join the Maritime Division in Costa Mesa, California. The Maritime Division develops autonomous systems and platforms for naval operations, including underwater vessels (Dive-XL, Dive-LD, Copperhead, Seabed Sentry) and emerging surface maritime products. This role focuses on the surface maritime domain expansion.
You will design and integrate electrical subsystems for next-generation autonomous maritime platforms. Key responsibilities include developing electrical schematics, power system diagrams, system interconnect diagrams, and wire harnesses. You'll design electrical interfaces and enclosures for sensor integration, troubleshoot issues spanning electrical and software boundaries, and develop subsystems including sensors, interfaces, power management, and networking components.
You will collaborate closely with electrical, mechanical, software, firmware, and test engineers in a fast-paced environment. You'll conduct design reviews, perform requirements analysis, and plan system verification to ensure compliance with project goals and industry standards. The role requires balancing schedule, cost, and performance parameters while delivering fully functional products.
Required qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent) with 5+ years of experience designing, testing, and troubleshooting electrical systems. You must have knowledge of modern analog and digital electronics, experience developing schematics and wiring harnesses, and proficiency with electronic CAD tools (NX, SolidWorks, or similar). Familiarity with networking standards (Ethernet, CAN, I2C, USB, MODBUS, ProfiNet) and competence with test equipment (multimeters, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers) are essential. Additional requirements include experience with electro-mechanical design, signal/power integrity, low-power electronics, fieldable system design, and test plan development. You must be eligible to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret security clearance and able to travel up to 25% with potential surges.
Preferred qualifications include experience designing electronic circuits and hardware kits, designing electrical and power systems for autonomous systems, and familiarity with MCU, CPU, and FPGA devices.
