Fluidstack is building civilization-scale AI compute infrastructure, focusing on delivering 10-100s of GWs of compute faster than competitors by rethinking every layer of the stack—from power acquisition through data center design and operations.
The Modular team is designing a factory-built data center product engineered once and deployed repeatedly, shifting data center construction from field-based to factory-based assembly. This role owns the electrical systems engineering for this modular product across the full lifecycle: from concept through released production drawings.
Key responsibilities include:
- Engineer electrical systems including power distribution, grounding, and controls integration from concept to released drawings
- Own one-lines, panel schedules, cable and raceway design to factory-install standards that require minimal field hand-holding
- Solve integration problems where electrical, structural, and mechanical systems collide—routing, penetrations, tolerances
- Provide rapid electrical support for factory and field operations: same-day RFI responses, with every fix engineered into the next revision
- Drive prototyping and validation through mockups, fit checks, and first-article reviews, attending in person
Ideal candidates have hands-on experience engineering electrical systems for complex physical products, modular construction, or critical facilities (prefab power skids, switchgear OEM, modular data centers, or EPC repeatable critical-facility work). You've supported production launches from first article through repeat builds, design for factory install rather than field construction, produce clean drawings that fabricators and electricians can build from without callbacks, work across disciplines to resolve collisions, and iterate fast while maintaining configuration control.
Bonus qualifications: PE license, fluency in electrical codes and panel standards (NEC, UL 508A), data center power distribution experience, electrical CAD mastery (AutoCAD Electrical, Revit), and strong design-for-manufacturability instincts.
