Salary: USD 129,000 - 171,000 / annual
Anduril Industries is seeking an Electrical Engineer to join the avionics systems team in Costa Mesa, California. You will own end-to-end avionics systems and subsystems development, including design, integration, testing, and validation. This role requires hands-on expertise in PCB design, electrical harnessing, power systems analysis, and cross-functional collaboration on high-speed missile and air vehicle platforms.
Key responsibilities include:
- Design and validate complex electrical systems for high-speed avionics applications
- Perform power system analysis, electrical loading calculations, and thermal/EMI testing
- Design mixed-signal PCBs with multi-layer stackups, impedance matching, and proper grounding strategies
- Develop low-voltage and high-voltage power electronics interconnect diagrams and cable harnessing designs
- Conduct hands-on lab testing using oscilloscopes, power supplies, logic analyzers, and thermal chambers
- Integrate microcontrollers and embedded systems; perform bring-up and firmware debugging
- Collaborate across engineering disciplines to meet system requirements
Required qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent with 3+ years of design, testing, and troubleshooting experience
- Proficiency with lab test equipment and basic software debugging tools
- Strong knowledge of electrical bus interfaces (CAN, I2C, SPI, Ethernet, RS232/422/485, USB)
- Expertise in power design, power management, and mixed-signal PCB design
- Understanding of analog/digital electronics, microcontroller design, and low/high-voltage power systems
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
Preferred experience includes designing electrical systems for high-speed air vehicles or missiles, military embedded systems, battery/AC power systems, low-level firmware development, and understanding temperature/vibration effects on electrical designs.
