Serve Robotics is building autonomous sidewalk delivery robots to transform urban logistics. The company operates a fleet across Los Angeles, Miami, Dallas, Atlanta, and Chicago, delivering packages while reducing street congestion and expanding delivery access. As an Electrical Engineer, you will design and validate electrical systems for autonomous robotic platforms. Your responsibilities include developing schematics, selecting components, and creating PCB designs that meet performance, reliability, and cost targets. You'll support PCB layout reviews and collaborate with firmware and software teams to ensure designs are both manufacturable and maintainable. You'll perform hardware bring-up, validation, and characterization of new electrical subsystems, working closely with firmware and software engineers. Troubleshooting electrical and system-level issues is a core part of the role—you'll conduct root cause analysis to identify and resolve failures, develop test plans to verify subsystem performance, and contribute to prototype development and hardware integration throughout the product lifecycle. Partnership with manufacturing teams, vendors, and suppliers is essential. You'll support builds, resolve issues, and drive design improvements. You'll also create and maintain engineering documentation, test results, and design records to support product development and manufacturing. Occasional onsite support for prototype builds, manufacturing activities, and validation efforts is expected. Required qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent practical experience, plus 5+ years designing and testing electrical systems in robotics, consumer electronics, or related fields. You must have hands-on experience debugging electrical subsystems using lab equipment (oscilloscope, function generator, spectrum analyzer, electronic load), designing and debugging embedded systems, and conducting hardware prototype bring-up and failure analysis. Proficiency in major ECAD tools (Altium preferred) is required. Desirable skills include high-speed circuit design, signal integrity measurements, debugging common interfaces (CAN, SPI, UART, I2C, USB), Python/Bash scripting for test automation, EMC/EMI compliance testing, Nvidia Jetson platform familiarity, sensor integration experience (camera, LiDAR, radar, ultrasonic), cellular networking, cable harness design, and experience with factory support and overseas vendor partnerships.
