Saronic Technologies is seeking an Electrical Engineer to design, test, and implement electrical systems for autonomous surface vessels used in maritime defense operations. You will work within a multidisciplinary team of software engineers, mechanical engineers, and naval architects to develop cutting-edge electrical solutions for autonomous vessels operating in challenging open-water environments.
Key responsibilities include partnering with core electrical design and manufacturing teams throughout product development and production cycles to improve product function and reliability. You will support new product development by prototyping early-stage hardware, execute design-for-manufacturability improvements to enhance production efficiency, and resolve manufacturing discrepancies in collaboration with quality teams. You will participate in design reviews with internal teams, suppliers, and customers, and partner with engineering and production teams to generate ideas and improvements for current and next-generation vessels.
Additional responsibilities include sourcing and advising vendors from a technical perspective, identifying and solving difficult technical problems while maintaining a system-level approach to prioritize issues across the entire vessel. You will identify opportunities for risk reduction and complexity removal in designs and processes, collaborate with integrated product teams to drive improvements, and challenge requirements to determine what adds genuine value.
Required qualifications include a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field, proven understanding of electrical engineering principles and design integration into complex systems, and experience designing electrical systems for complex projects, preferably in automotive, maritime, or defense industries. Preferred experience includes wire harnessing, radios, transmissions, and system integration; knowledge of industry standards (IEEE, IEC, ABS); and familiarity with programming languages and software development practices. You must have excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, strong communication and collaboration abilities, adaptability to fast-paced startup environments, and willingness to travel as needed. U.S. Person status required due to export-controlled information access.
