Graphcore, a globally recognized leader in AI computing systems and member of the SoftBank Group, is opening a new AI Engineering Campus in Austin. This role is central to Graphcore's mission of building the future of AI computing through advanced semiconductors and data center hardware. As an Electrical Engineer, you will design innovative hardware systems for AI/ML applications, working across organizational boundaries to drive designs from concept through mass production. You'll collaborate closely with multiple partners to ensure design quality, manufacturability, and on-time delivery in a fast-paced environment. Key responsibilities include developing and maintaining electrical schematics for printed circuit assemblies, designing and laying out multilayer PCBs, and working with partners to review designs and provide technical guidance. You'll drive design for manufacturability (DFM), design for assembly (DFA), and design for testability (DFT) principles. Additional duties include supporting server subsystem integration, participating in design reviews, and supporting prototype builds, board bring-up, debugging, and validation. You'll track and resolve design issues through root cause analysis and corrective actions, while ensuring proper documentation, revision control, and engineering change management (ECO/ECN processes). Required qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering and 2–4 years of experience in schematic capture and PCB design. You must be proficient with PCB design and schematic tools, have a strong understanding of analog and digital circuit design fundamentals, experience with multilayer PCB layout, and familiarity with lab equipment (oscilloscope, multimeter, logic analyzer). Desirable experience includes server platforms or data center hardware, power delivery network (PDN) design for high-power systems, signal integrity and power integrity analysis tools, compliance and validation (EMI/EMC, safety, regulatory), exposure to global manufacturing environments and supply chain coordination, and familiarity with PLM systems and change management workflows.
