Base Power is rebuilding America's electrical grid through distributed battery networks and energy storage systems. As an Electrical Engineer, you will own the end-to-end design and validation of Base's energy storage systems, including inverters, batteries, and microgrid interconnect devices—from schematic through manufacturing and field deployment.
You will take full responsibility for complex electrical system design, working across specifications, architecture, schematic capture, PCB layout, board bring-up, and validation testing. This includes designing and executing high-voltage and high-current validation protocols, debugging component interactions at the system level, and collaborating with mechanical, firmware, test, and reliability teams to scale products to high-volume manufacturing.
The ideal candidate has hands-on experience taking systems from schematic to production, with deep expertise in digital and analog circuit design, high-voltage circuits, and power supply design. You should be proficient in PCB design tools (Altium), board bring-up and debugging, and comfortable with embedded firmware, microcontrollers, and scripting languages like Python. Experience with power semiconductors (MOSFETs, IGBTs), lab equipment (oscilloscopes, function generators, power supplies), automotive networking (CAN, LIN, Ethernet), and knowledge of electric motors, thermal design, or mechanical design are valuable.
