Aalyria is a technology company specializing in laser communications and software-defined networking platforms for the aerospace industry. The company leverages technology acquired from Google to develop cutting-edge satellite and airborne mesh networks, as well as cislunar and deep-space communications solutions.
The Electrical Engineer will join the Tightbeam team, which focuses on delivering advanced optical communication solutions. In this role, you will develop and deliver systems for next-generation land, sea, air, and space optical communications terminals and support systems.
Key responsibilities include:
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams on electronics integration, troubleshooting, and optimization for free-space optical (FSO) technology
- Assisting in design and development of electronics from individual PCBAs to higher-level system integrations
- Using ECAD tools (KiCAD, Altium, etc.) to design custom PCBAs with digital and mixed-signal circuitry
- Researching and selecting electronics components, and maintaining CAD libraries
- Documenting designs, test plans, and technical reports for internal teams, stakeholders, and customers
- Performing benchtop testing, integration testing, and experimental data collection
- Creating wiring and cable drawings for assemblies and connection diagrams
- Serving as a technical point of contact for electronics with vendors, customers, and internal stakeholders
Required qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent practical experience, up to 3 years of electrical engineering experience in embedded systems for industrial applications, and proficiency with ECAD design software.
