As an Electrical & Electronics Engineer on the Physical Products team, you will design and build the electrical systems that power Helsing's defense platforms. Your responsibilities span the full lifecycle from component selection and electrical architecture definition through bespoke PCB design and hands-on prototype validation.
Key responsibilities include:
- Design, build, and validate custom PCBs covering power, digital, and mixed-signal electronics using tools like Altium Designer or KiCad
- Define electrical architecture for UAV platforms, including wiring diagrams, power distribution schemes, and interface definitions across mechanical, software, and avionics boundaries
- Select and specify components (sensors, actuators, controllers, power systems) with careful trade-offs on performance, cost, availability, and integration effort
- Integrate communication interfaces such as CAN Bus, Ethernet, RS422/485, and support RF/radio systems for robust data and power distribution
- Define and execute unit-level tests, contribute to reliability and safety analyses (FMEA), and produce comprehensive design documentation
You should have professional experience designing and integrating electrical systems in demanding domains like aerospace. Proficiency in PCB design tools (Altium Designer or KiCad) and simulation tools (LTSpice) is essential. You must be able to interpret complex datasheets, design cable harnesses, define communication interfaces, and work with RF/radio systems. Strong collaboration across mechanical, software, and systems engineering disciplines is required, with fluent English communication.
Nice-to-have skills include ECAD/MCAD co-design workflows and experience with reliability/safety analyses in production environments.
