Heron Power is building next-generation power electronics for grid modernization, focusing on scalable inverters and rectifiers for renewable energy integration. As the Electrical/Electronics Test Engineer, you will architect and deliver automated test infrastructure spanning PCBA functional validation through high-power converter system testing and end-of-line manufacturing verification. You will own the complete test lifecycle: defining coverage strategy, architecting test solutions, designing fixtures and benches, implementing automation software, deploying systems, and driving continuous improvement. Key responsibilities include designing bi-directional AC/DC and DC/DC converter testers capable of source and sink operation, specifying high-power test cells with grid simulators and regenerative loads, and ensuring safe, repeatable high-voltage testing. You will also develop PCBA functional fixtures (bed-of-nails, pogo boards), integrate instrumentation (power supplies, electronic loads, DAQs, oscilloscopes, power analyzers), and partner with design and manufacturing teams on Design-for-Test strategies. This role builds test capability from the ground up with real breadth across PCBA, engineering validation, hardware-in-the-loop, and production testing. You will drive rapid debug loops, improve test observability, own station calibration and uptime, and directly influence iteration speed and shipping velocity. Required: Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechatronics, or equivalent; demonstrated experience designing and delivering automated test setups for high-voltage/high-power systems; strong circuits and instrumentation fundamentals; hands-on proficiency with scopes, DMMs, power supplies, electronic loads, DAQs, and digital interfaces (CAN, Ethernet, SPI, I2C, UART); proven ownership of test systems from concept through deployment and sustainment; cross-functional collaboration skills. Nice-to-have: bi-directional power source and regenerative load experience; HIL development or firmware validation infrastructure; PCBA manufacturing functional test and yield improvement; production traceability and calibration discipline; medium-voltage or high-power converter product experience.
