Fieldguide is a venture-backed SaaS platform that augments audit and assurance practitioners with AI agents to enhance trust in global commerce and capital markets. The company has raised over $125M from top investors including Goldman Sachs, Bessemer Venture Partners, Y Combinator, and others. More than 50% of the top-100 CPA firms are customers, including several Big 4 firms.
Fieldguide University is the company's customer-facing learning platform—a product-adjacent system designed to reduce time to value, drive feature adoption, and remove friction from the customer lifecycle. Courses are persona-driven, delivering tailored learning experiences for different user types (e.g., admins configuring frameworks vs. first-year associates testing controls).
As eLearning Designer, you will own the production-heavy aspects of course building, including visual design, interactive elements, and multimedia. You will collaborate with the customer education team (who own product knowledge, learner personas, and course goals) to deliver polished, pedagogically sound learning experiences.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own course production end-to-end: transform product documentation and subject matter expert input into visually polished, interactive courses. Write learning scripts, storyboard screens, design visuals, build interactions, and publish in WorkRamp.
- Write for learners: reshape technical documentation into on-screen copy with appropriate length, tone, and chunking. Define measurable learning objectives for each module alongside SMEs.
- Build interactive layers: design knowledge checks, scenario-based activities, and exercises that balance reading and doing. Ensure every interaction serves the learning goal and works across delivery contexts.
- Establish visual design language: create a reusable design system for Fieldguide University course content (an explicit first-engagement deliverable).
- Build and QA in the LMS: structure course hierarchy, configure settings, produce landing pages and banners, and QA formatting, links, and presentation before publication.
- Write assessments: develop multiple-choice and other question types aligned to learning objectives, configured in WorkRamp with scoring and certification logic.
- Advocate for learners: push back if a module is too long, a concept is unclear, or a proposed interaction doesn't serve the learner. The role requires a peer collaborator, not an order-taker.
Requirements:
- 3+ years designing and developing eLearning courses, with a portfolio demonstrating production quality and visual design capability.
- Proficiency in a major authoring tool (Articulate Storyline, Articulate Rise, Adobe Captivate, or similar). WorkRamp familiarity is a plus but learnable; general LMS experience is what matters.
- Strong visual design skills applied to learning contexts. Understand how to design for on-screen reading, interaction, and learner attention.
- Ability to work effectively with subject matter experts: conduct SME interviews, synthesize documentation, and develop sound content structures.
- Instructional design background sufficient to write learning objectives, build storyboards, and identify content architecture problems. Deep ID methodology is not the main requirement; the company handles learning strategy and needs analysis internally.
Strongly Preferred:
- Hands-on experience in audit, advisory, or accounting (as a practitioner, trainer, L&D specialist inside a firm, or course developer for the profession). Background at a public accounting firm, audit technology vendor, or CPE provider counts.
- Familiarity with CPE (Continuing Professional Education) requirements.
Nice to Have:
- B2B SaaS or technical product context.
- Experience building learning content for AI-native products.
- Comfort producing screen recordings and product screenshots from live applications.
