Saronic Technologies, a leader in autonomous surface vessels for maritime defense, is seeking an EHS Specialist to support fast-growing operations across production and engineering groups. This role offers significant opportunity for professional growth in technical skills and capabilities.
You will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing critical Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) programs and training to ensure regulatory compliance while promoting a culture of learning and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
• EHS Training: Oversee and coordinate comprehensive EHS training programs including instructor-led training, self-paced modules, and monthly topic development. Provide training to employees at all levels, from new hire orientation to specialized high-risk activity training.
• Budget & Resource Management: Manage human, financial, and material resources to optimize program efficiency. Develop individual and team objectives and key results, tracking progress toward completion.
• Collaboration: Work cross-functionally with EHS team members, managers, and other departments to align training programs with company goals and regulatory requirements.
• Communication: Ensure organizational transparency through regular progress updates, status reports, event bulletins, and milestone communications to stakeholders.
• Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives using plan-do-check-act methodology and assessments to enhance program management processes and foster innovation.
• Data-Driven Approach: Develop new processes for data mining, analytics, and communication to drive operational influence and change.
• Regulatory Awareness: Review manufacturing work practices to identify EHS hazards. Stay current on emerging EHS regulations, trends, and best practices.
• Performance Evaluation: Evaluate EHS team and training program performance using internal metrics, OKRs, KPIs, and data analytics.
• Risk Management: Identify risks to EHS programs and develop mitigation strategies.
• General Support: Submit and track continuous improvement suggestions, support regulatory reports, inspections, internal audits, emergency drills, and management system improvements.
Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in occupational health and safety, environmental science, engineering, public health, or related field; professional certification (ASP, CSP, CIH, CHMM) preferred.
• 2+ years of experience in EHS or technical training, preferably in boat building, aerospace, general manufacturing, or industrial environments.
Preferred Skills & Experience:
• 2+ years working on or with EHS-specific training or technical manufacturing training.
• Thorough understanding of federal, state, and local EHS regulations including OSHA, EPA/TCEQ, and DOT requirements.
• Proven track record developing and implementing effective EHS training programs with focus on injury prevention and risk reduction.
• Strong analytical skills to assess complex situations, identify trends, and develop data-driven solutions.
• Strong customer service, communication, and organizational skills with ability to engage and influence stakeholders.
• Experience conducting EHS training for diverse audiences including frontline employees, supervisors, and executives.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and EHS software applications for data management and reporting.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
