The Exploration Company is seeking an experienced EGSE (Electrical Ground Support Equipment) Engineer to design, develop, and maintain test infrastructure for Nyx, a modular and reusable space orbital vehicle. This role spans hardware and software architecture, real-time systems integration, and spacecraft electrical interface testing.
Key responsibilities include designing and implementing EGSE subsystem and system-level testing architectures; developing LabVIEW applications for desktop and real-time platforms (PXI, cRIO); integrating NI VeriStand for real-time test setups and spacecraft interface simulation; designing power, signal conditioning, and telemetry/telecommand interfaces; supporting RF test activities for TT&C chains; and collaborating with cross-functional teams (AIT, systems, RF, electrical, FSW) to ensure seamless integration.
You will own cable and harness design for EGSE-to-EUT connections, including pinout definition, connector selection, shielding/grounding strategy, and drawing generation. Additional responsibilities include creating technical documentation (architecture specs, ICDs, code docs), supporting test execution and data acquisition, debugging and troubleshooting, and driving continuous improvement of EGSE/HiL infrastructure with emphasis on performance, reliability, and maintainability. All solutions must meet space-grade quality, safety, and cleanliness standards (ESD, contamination control).
Required qualifications: Bachelor's or Master's in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Computer Science, or related field; proficiency in LabVIEW (desktop and real-time); hands-on NI VeriStand and TestStand experience; solid understanding of EGSE/test platform architectures and real-time systems; experience with spacecraft electrical interfaces (power distribution, telemetry, telecommand, CAN, RS422/485, MIL-STD-1553, SpaceWire, Ethernet); ICD development and requirements traceability; cable/harness design experience; RF test equipment familiarity; strong debugging skills; Python scripting ability; test/measurement hardware knowledge (oscilloscopes, DMMs, power supplies); EMC/ESD-safe practices; fluent English; ability to work independently in fast-paced environments. LabVIEW FPGA experience and willingness to travel for AIT/launch campaigns are appreciated.
