The Business of Fashion (BoF) is seeking an Editorial Operations Associate to join its Content Operations team in London. This is a mid-level role requiring 2–3 years of prior experience in a newsroom, publishing house, or similar media environment. You will take real ownership of editorial production, AI-assisted workflows, and support key editorial products including BoF 500.
You will work independently on editorial operations, running processes with minimal supervision and making judgment calls under deadline pressure. You'll collaborate closely with editors, reporters, and cross-functional teams (Design, Social Media, Multimedia) across BoF's global offices in London, New York, Paris, and Milan.
Key responsibilities include:
**Editorial Operations:** Managing the smooth running of editorial workflows, producing newsletters and briefings, formatting articles in the in-house CMS, researching and coordinating images, proofreading for accuracy, monitoring news wires, and supporting journalists with research and fact-checking.
**AI Integration:** Using BoF's approved AI tools daily for production, research, transcription, formatting, and quality checks. You will help test and refine AI-assisted workflows, build and maintain prompts and templates, train colleagues on new tools, and apply rigorous human verification to all AI-assisted output with clear accountability for accuracy.
**BoF 500 Ownership:** Owning the BoF 500 profile update programme end-to-end, researching, drafting, and updating profiles with verified, current, and consistent information.
**Data & Multimedia Support:** Supporting writers and editors with charts and data presentation, maintaining consistency across exhibits, coordinating case study production, and supporting podcast and multimedia content.
**Special Projects:** Contributing to editorial special projects such as fashion week coverage and content-driven events.
BoF is becoming an AI-native company, and this role sits at the centre of that transformation. You will help shape how the newsroom adopts AI tools while maintaining rigorous editorial standards and human verification as automation expands.
The role requires comfort working across global, cross-timezone teams and a willingness to work flexible schedules to meet the needs of a 24-hour news cycle.
**Requirements:**
- 2–3 years of experience in a newsroom, publishing house, media company, or similar fast-paced editorial environment
- Proven experience working on editorial production processes with minimal supervision
- Exceptional proofreading skills with a sharp eye for house style and consistency
- Hands-on experience using AI tools in professional workflows (research, drafting, transcription, formatting, quality checks) with judgment about where AI helps and where it doesn't
- Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple work-streams without losing detail
- News sense across fashion and beauty with confidence to make editorial judgment calls under deadline
- Clear, concise, and accurate writing
- Experience coordinating across teams (editors, reporters, design, social media) from brief to publication
- Curiosity and intellectual scepticism, including about AI-generated output
- Openness to feedback
- Creative flair for image selection and presentation; working knowledge of Photoshop is an asset
- Comfort working with global, cross-timezone teams
- Willingness to work flexible schedules for a 24-hour news cycle
