K2 Space is building the largest and highest-power satellites ever flown, backed by $450M in funding from leading investors including Altimeter Capital, Redpoint Ventures, T. Rowe Price, and Lightspeed Venture Partners. The company has $500M in signed contracts across commercial and US government customers and is mass-producing advanced satellite platforms for missions from low Earth orbit to deep space.
As a Dynamics Engineer on the analysis team, you will own the derivation of loads and environments for K2 Space satellites across all mission phases: ground transportation, launch, deployment, and on-orbit operation. You will build software tools and establish simulation workflows to support frequency and time domain analyses. Within your first few months, you will devise development testing to correlate physics models with measured data, ensuring accuracy and reliability.
Key responsibilities include:
- Drive subsystem-level dynamic testing from planning through execution, including test analysis and model correlation
- Develop physics models using finite element analysis and other computational methods
- Own qualification and acceptance testing of satellite hardware at component and vehicle levels
- Deliver well-derived requirements and engineering insights to support reliable, mass-producible spacecraft design
- Contribute to refining designs and scaling for future missions
