Rowe Price. With over $1 billion in signed contracts across commercial and US government customers, K2 is mass-producing advanced satellite platforms for missions from LEO to deep space. As a Dynamics Engineer, you will be a core member of the growing dynamics team, responsible for deriving loads and environments for K2 Space satellites during ground transportation, launch, deployment, and on-orbit operation. You will build software tools and establish simulation workflows to support analyses in frequency and time domains, devise development testing to correlate physics models with measured data, and own qualification and acceptance testing of satellite hardware at component and vehicle levels. Key responsibilities include: - Support dynamic testing at component and subsystem levels, including test planning, coordination, analysis, and model correlation - Develop physics models using finite element analysis (Nastran) or custom Python software - Create software tools for data processing and simulation frameworks - Collaborate with design engineers, analysts, and external customers on satellite product development - Apply first principles to develop frameworks for dynamics and non-dynamics analyses - Contribute to code reviews for simulation and analysis tools - Provide data-driven engineering guidance and decisions - Write high-quality technical documentation - Support derivation of loads, environments, and dynamics-driven design/test criteria (vibration, shock, jitter per NASA 7004C) - Support coupled loads analysis (CLA) including superelement/Craig-Bampton model builds - Assist with jitter, pointing performance, vibroacoustic, and modal test/analysis activities Required qualifications: Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, physics, or mathematics; 1+ years of work experience in dynamics from industry, research, internships, or academic projects. Desired experience includes Master's degree, strong understanding of low/high frequency dynamics, testing and measurement experience, FEA software proficiency (FEMAP, Nastran), Python development, digital signal processing, statistics, structural mechanics knowledge, and strong problem-solving and communication skills.
