Salary: USD 120,000 - 130,000 / annual

Away is a travel luggage and essentials company founded in 2016, seeking a District Manager for the East Coast to lead retail store operations across five locations: Noho and Williamsburg (NYC), Newbury (Boston), Georgetown (Washington D.C.), and Yorkdale (Toronto). In this role, you will report to the Director of Retail and serve as a strategic bridge between headquarters and field operations. You'll oversee 5 retail locations and manage Store Managers, driving district-wide growth, operational excellence, and brand elevation. Key responsibilities include: **Financial & Operational Strategy**: Collaborate with Retail leadership to provide sales analysis, local trends, and operational insights to inform district financial planning. Translate retail strategies into structured execution plans, prioritizing store workstreams for technology rollouts and launch executions. **Cross-Functional Partnership**: Serve as the primary liaison between stores and key partners (Retail Ops, Brand, Learning & Development). Participate in cross-functional projects to improve store efficiency and customer experience. Develop community engagement through store activations and local events aligned with brand marketing. **Team Coaching & Talent Management**: Provide oversight and coaching to store managers on daily execution, operational excellence, sales performance, and budgets. Lead district initiatives to improve efficiency and customer experience. Conduct regular store visits and business reviews to ensure managers have the knowledge and tools to achieve results. You'll need a minimum of 3 years of multi-unit leadership experience (District/Area Manager) or 4+ years as a high-performing Store Manager in high-volume retail. You should have strong business acumen with ability to analyze retail KPIs, financial reports, and merchandising analytics. Proven track record coaching and developing managers is essential. You must be comfortable traveling up to 75% across the district with overnight stays required. Physical requirements include ability to lift up to 25 pounds, stand for extended periods, and bend/squat/reach as needed.
