Armada is a hyperscaler for edge AI infrastructure, delivering modular solutions for sovereign and distributed compute. With nearly $500M in funding and backing from Founders Fund, Lux, BlackRock, and Microsoft, Armada is deployed across 60+ countries serving energy, defense, and enterprise sectors.
As Distinguished Engineer / Technical Fellow, you will serve as the primary architect of Armada's long-term technical vision. This is a builder-leader role combining deep hands-on technical work with strategic influence across the organization.
Key responsibilities include:
- Architecting the Armada Edge Platform (AEP) for seamless orchestration of compute and AI workloads across globally distributed, high-latency, and disconnected environments
- Leading R&D for next-horizon projects, including Data Centers in Space, adapting the Armada stack for orbital compute modules and solving unique LEO challenges (radiation tolerance, thermal management, power-constrained AI)
- Strategic partner engineering with elite industry partners (Microsoft, Dell, Palantir, NVIDIA, SpaceX, Skydio) to co-design deep-tech solutions
- Defining the 3–5 year technical roadmap in collaboration with company leadership, identifying emerging technologies in GPU orchestration and orbital data processing
- Serving as final escalation point for complex architectural challenges involving real-time data streaming, computer vision, and network-aware workload distribution
- Leading proof-of-concepts for next-generation capabilities: in-orbit inference, adaptive edge learning, secure Earth-to-space data orchestration
- Mentoring Staff and Principal engineers to elevate engineering rigor across the organization
Required: 15+ years software engineering experience with proven track record as Distinguished Engineer or Fellow. Deep mastery of data center operations, compute architectures (CPU/GPU/NPU), and AI infrastructure at scale. Full-stack understanding from silicon to orchestration layer.
