- Identifying, evaluating, and building relationships with researchers, physician advisors, and academic centers who hold or can collect needed datasets; negotiating data access, licensing, and purchase arrangements
- Evaluating external research proposals for scientific merit, clinical relevance, and alignment with indication priorities; serving as the scientific point of contact through proposal, execution, and data return phases
- Leading EMR integration efforts with partner hospitals to obtain linked clinical context and outcomes data; coordinating with hospital IT, clinical informatics, and clinical champions on data feeds, mappings, and workflows
- Assessing dataset quality and fit (label quality, cohort definition, population diversity, annotation methodology) in partnership with data scientists before and after acquisition
- Partnering with Legal, Regulatory, and Privacy teams on data use agreements, IRB requirements, de-identification, and HIPAA compliance
- Supporting early-stage clinical studies and ensuring data collection aligns with study protocols
- Maintaining a data asset inventory and pipeline tracker across multiple simultaneous partnerships and projects
- Representing Ceribell at scientific conferences and in academic networks

- Strong clinical and research judgment, including ability to evaluate study design, research proposals, and clinical data quality
- Working knowledge of data science and machine learning fundamentals sufficient to judge dataset suitability
- Working knowledge of basic statistics, including sample size and power, confidence intervals, sensitivity and specificity, and common sources of bias and confounding, sufficient to evaluate study designs and dataset adequacy
- Experience with EMR data and integrations, or clinical informatics projects
- Familiarity with clinical research regulations and data governance (IRB, HIPAA, de-identification, data use agreements)
- Experience with EEG or other biosignal data preferred
- Excellent communication skills with ability to explain technical data needs to clinicians and clinical context to data scientists
- Entrepreneurial mindset, adaptability, and passion for improving patient outcomes through data
