Shield AI is seeking a Director of Program Management to lead a team of Program Managers overseeing the delivery and sustainment of unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) system Direct Commercial Sales (DCS) programs across Europe and Africa markets.
In this role, you will be responsible for end-to-end program leadership, including team hiring, development, and supervision of project and program managers. You will drive flawless execution of program management activities while balancing shifting customer priorities across cost, schedule, and technical parameters. Key responsibilities include:
• Lead and manage a growing team of Program Managers, providing mentorship and development opportunities
• Oversee customer relationships and serve as the primary escalation point for program, project, and operational performance issues
• Shape and codify processes and procedures for effective stakeholder collaboration and program delivery
• Drive budget, schedule, and scope management; ensure accurate tracking and timely reporting of standard project metrics
• Conduct critical path analyses and identify bottlenecks to keep projects on schedule
• Manage complex, multi-organizational projects with hands-on involvement as programs scale
• Establish and lead consistent cadence of well-organized meetings with preparation and follow-up
• Partner with senior leadership on project prioritization and resource allocation
• Foster accountability and program execution excellence across the team
• Support international travel as needed for customer engagement and program oversight
Shield AI develops autonomy software and advanced aircraft to help U.S. and allied forces accomplish missions in challenging environments. This role reports directly to Shield AI's Senior Director of Program Management.
REQUIREMENTS:
• Program Management experience with Aerospace and Defense programs
• Proven experience building, growing, and leading a program management team
• Deep expertise in project and program management methodologies
• Willingness and ability to travel internationally as needed
• Ability to manage advanced, multi-project programs in a largely self-directed manner
• Experience with scheduling tools (Microsoft Project, Smartsheet, or equivalent)
• Significant proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
• Excellent leadership, time management, organization, and team management skills
• Strong interpersonal skills and excellent verbal and written communication
• Expert understanding of complex project financials
• Demonstrated track record of hard work, trustworthiness, high standards, and collaborative teamwork
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Experience managing dynamic aircraft demonstrations in international environments
• Background in unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs)
• Experience in training, logistics, operations, and maintenance
• Master's Degree in Business Administration
