Jerry is a fintech-adjacent consumer platform that started with car insurance and has grown to 5M+ customers. The company is now expanding into home, motorcycle, and other physical asset management. This Director role owns the end-to-end partnerships motion for these new product lines—building pipeline, structuring complex deals, and ensuring partner success post-close.
You'll report directly to the VP of Partnerships and work independently with insurance carriers and distribution partners to qualify fit, understand partner needs, structure creative value propositions, and close deals. The role requires designing non-standard deal structures when traditional approaches don't work, then owning partner onboarding and long-term engagement. Your ground-level insights will feed directly into vertical strategy and product sequencing decisions.
This is a 0-to-1 role. The partnership models for home, motorcycle, and adjacent products are still being defined. You'll work cross-functionally with product, engineering, data science, legal, finance, and executive leadership on every deal. Deals are complex, cycles are long (months), and many won't close—this requires analytical rigor, strong judgment, and persistence.
You bring 5+ years in business development, partnerships, or strategy consulting with a track record of closing complex, multi-stakeholder deals. You've built 0-to-1 (launched a new partnership category, entered a new market, or built a BD function from scratch). Your background combines at least two of: consulting/structured problem-solving, BD/sales execution, or early-stage startup operating experience. You engage senior external stakeholders independently, navigate large organizations, and communicate complex deal structures simply and credibly to executives. You're truth-seeking, creative, meticulous, and a builder who breaks ambiguous problems into clear steps and drives them to completion.
