F5 is seeking a Director of Product Marketing to lead the product marketing team for BIG-IP systems, software, and delivery products—the foundation of F5's Application Delivery and Security Platform (ADSP). You will own the go-to-market strategy, positioning, and messaging for BIG-IP and be accountable for measurable contributions to pipeline, ARR growth, renewals, and modernization. BIG-IP is F5's largest franchise, trusted by the world's leading enterprises to deliver and secure their most critical applications. The market is being reshaped by hybrid multicloud adoption, an expanding threat landscape, and AI inference at scale. As Director, you will translate these shifts into BIG-IP's strategy and story, positioning it as the platform enterprises rely on to deliver, secure, and scale every application across data centers, cloud, and AI infrastructure. Key Responsibilities: - Develop and execute multi-year product marketing strategy and messaging architecture for the BIG-IP portfolio, including systems, software (Virtual Edition), and core technologies (LTM, BIG-IP DNS, F5 Insight). - Lead market, competitive, and voice-of-customer research to shape portfolio strategy, roadmap priorities, and GTM plans. - Own the BIG-IP launch process and partner cross-functionally with Sales, Product Management, Customer Success, and Demand Generation. - Articulate BIG-IP's value across high-performance traffic management, global DNS and load balancing, fleet management, and AI inference traffic, tailored to NetOps, platform engineering, and IT infrastructure leaders. - Define and report KPIs tying product marketing to revenue: pipeline contribution, ARR growth, renewal rates, and migration velocity. - Partner with Product Management, Engineering, Finance, and Pricing on packaging, licensing, and subscription offers. - Represent F5's BIG-IP vision at industry events, user groups, executive briefings, and lead analyst engagement. - Equip sales, channel partners, and customer success with playbooks, battlecards, ROI tools, and customer proof points. - Build programs and content to help NetOps and platform engineering teams modernize application delivery. - Build, develop, and mentor a high-performing product marketing team. - Establish operating model and annual planning cadence for BIG-IP product marketing. Requirements: - 12+ years of B2B enterprise technology marketing experience, including 8+ years in product marketing for enterprise networking, application delivery controllers (ADCs), or enterprise security solutions. - 5+ years leading product marketing teams. - Bachelor's degree in marketing, business, computer science, or related field; MBA, MS, or MA preferred. - Strong experience marketing software (virtual edition/SaaS) and hardware (appliances/chassis) solutions across hybrid multicloud environments. - Demonstrated success managing complex transition campaigns (e.g., migrating users from legacy platforms to next-generation architectures). - Proven ability to present BIG-IP strategy and roadmap to customer and partner executives in executive briefing contexts. - Strategic thinker with execution mindset; expert at translating complex technology into business-value narratives and measuring marketing impact on pipeline, bookings, and retention. - Exceptional writing and presentation skills for technical buyers, IT leaders, and industry analysts. - Solid understanding of L4–L7 protocols, application delivery networks, load balancing, DNS and global server load balancing (GSLB), SSL/TLS, and centralized fleet management. - Executive presence and proven ability to influence senior leaders without authority across a global, matrixed organization. Preferred: - Deep familiarity with F5's portfolio, particularly BIG-IP, NGINX, or F5 Distributed Cloud. - Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible) and developer-focused deployment trends. - Understanding of how modern ADC architectures optimize and secure AI training and inference workloads. - Experience building and leading teams that use AI-first workflows to scale research, content, and GTM execution. - Experience presenting strategy, plans, and results to executive leadership.
