ServiceNow is seeking a Director of Product Management to lead a team of product managers and own the product strategy for developer platform capabilities on the Now platform. The role focuses on enabling developers to build and deploy applications faster, with particular emphasis on testing, sandboxing, metering, and deployment of both AI-generated and human-written code. The core challenge is integrating four adjacent feature areas—Developer Reach, Developer Sandboxes, Agentic Testing, and Release Ops—into a cohesive SDLC experience. As agentic build tools compress authoring time, the bottleneck shifts downstream to testing and safe production deployment. This role owns the connective tissue: a sandbox that mirrors production, intelligent test suites, release paths with audit trails, and a production-build model that admins can govern at scale. Key responsibilities include: - Owning multi-year product strategy and roadmap across four interconnected product areas, defining how they compose into one lifecycle from authored change to governed deployment - Building, leading, and developing a team of PMs (one per area), setting standards for product craft and coaching on strategy and execution - Setting product direction for validating AI-originated changes at scale, including trust models, evidence requirements, and automation of test/review burden - Driving Developer Reach strategy for building in production with admin control, guardrails, and reversibility at enterprise scale - Defining sandbox strategy: provisioning speed, production parity, data handling, and developer experience - Owning release governance end-to-end, balancing developer velocity against auditability - Shaping metering and cost-modeling strategy in partnership with Pricing, Packaging, and Finance - Building triage discipline to prevent escalations across a broad product surface from displacing strategic roadmap work - Modeling an AI-first way of working: using agentic coding tools directly, building/deploying against own products, bringing firsthand customer pain understanding This is a deeply technical role close to execution, requiring real technical depth to steer the Developer Reach feature area alone. The role also carries broad operational surface spanning twenty+ product areas with associated escalation volume, requiring ability to run that load without letting it consume strategic work. REQUIREMENTS: - 12+ years of product management experience, including leading and growing a team of PMs - Track record of setting technical strategy independently rather than executing someone else's roadmap - Proven ability to develop PMs, raise the bar on product thinking and execution, and grow earlier-career PMs into strong owners - Deep experience owning developer platform, DevOps, or SDLC products at enterprise scale (CI/CD, test automation, environment management, release orchestration, change management) - Genuine hands-on technical comfort: reading code, reasoning about system architecture, holding own in design discussions with senior engineers - Direct, regular personal use of AI coding agents (Claude Code, Cursor, Windsurf, or similar) in own workflow - Experience with enterprise change-management or release-governance systems, understanding tradeoffs between developer velocity and auditability - Ideally, test strategy experience at scale: automated test generation, coverage/flakiness economics, regression management, building team trust in green builds - Familiarity with environment and infrastructure provisioning models, ephemeral environments, production parity, data seeding/masking, and associated cost/security tradeoffs - Working knowledge of agentic development workflows and what changes when commits originate from agents: review, attribution, validation, rollback - Proven ability to build and defend executive-level strategic cases, navigate cross-business-unit governance and ownership disputes at VP/SVP level - Demonstrated ability to run high-volume operational surface, triaging escalations and production issues across many product areas while shipping against multi-year strategy - Exceptional written and verbal communication, translating deep technical tradeoffs into strategy that lands with both engineers and executive stakeholders - Experience leveraging or critically thinking about integrating AI into work processes, decision-making, or problem-solving
