As Director of Product Management, you will define and own the strategic vision and multi-year roadmap for advanced security workflows within the Insights platform. You will drive product strategy for advanced threat detection and behavioral analysis capabilities tailored to modern security operations center (SOC) environments, working directly with world-class engineers, strategic partners, and global enterprise customers.
Key responsibilities include:
- Define strategic vision and multi-year roadmap for advanced security workflows
- Drive product strategy for threat detection and behavioral analysis in SOC environments
- Partner with engineering leadership across multiple teams to define requirements and prioritize features
- Collaborate with field teams, customers, and strategic partners to gather operational requirements and validate product-market fit
- Develop innovation roadmap for advanced analytical models and AI/ML-assisted features
- Lead product planning for platform integrations with ecosystem tools
- Own competitive positioning and partner with Product Marketing on value proposition
- Build and mentor a high-performing team of product managers, establishing PM practices as the organization scales
This role requires 5 on-site days per week at Illumio's Sunnyvale, CA headquarters.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 10+ years of product management or closely related roles (engineering, sales engineering, technical pre-sales) in enterprise security or networking
- 5+ years of product management experience shipping analytics, detection, or workflow products in network security or cybersecurity
- 3+ years of experience managing and developing product managers
- Deep domain expertise in network traffic analysis, security analytics, or detection and response, with practitioner's understanding of how SOC teams investigate and respond to network-based threats
- Track record of defining and delivering enterprise SaaS products with demonstrable outcomes in user adoption and customer retention
- Experience with data-intensive security products: flow analytics, behavioral detection, SIEM/SOAR integrations, or threat intelligence platforms
- Established practice of utilizing data and analytics to inform product decisions, including product usage telemetry and customer engagement metrics
- Ability to operate at both strategic and tactical levels – setting multi-year vision while running sprint-level prioritization
BONUS:
- Product management experience at network security analytics, security operations, or detection and response vendors
- Experience building products leveraging network flow data (NetFlow, sFlow, IPFIX, VPC Flow Logs)
- Understanding of AI/ML technologies applied to security detection
- Background in network forensics, incident response, or security operations
- Experience with Zero Trust architectures, microsegmentation, or network security policy management
- Familiarity with cloud-native data platforms for security analytics at scale
