Doma Technology is seeking a hands-on Director of Platform Engineering to own the infrastructure and DevOps foundation supporting product, software, and data teams. This is a backfill role reporting to the VP Engineering with focused scope on infrastructure and DevOps.
You will own and extend Doma's cloud infrastructure built on Azure and Kubernetes, keeping it reliable, secure, and cost-efficient. A key differentiator: the platform was designed and built using human-directed AI, and you'll lead the team in using AI-assisted engineering to design, build, and operate infrastructure at scale—setting standards, guardrails, and review practices that ensure AI-generated code and infrastructure remain reliable, secure, and maintainable.
Key responsibilities include: owning Azure and Kubernetes environments; leading AI-assisted infrastructure design and operations; driving infrastructure-as-code, CI/CD, and GitOps practices; managing secrets and DevOps tooling in the deployment pipeline; maintaining database and data warehouse infrastructure; building observability and reliability practices; managing and mentoring a team of engineers and engineering managers while staying hands-on; and partnering with Security and Corporate IT on platform-security handoffs.
You'll be expected to set direction while staying close enough to systems to review architecture, work through incidents, and contribute directly to builds alongside your team. This role requires fluency in directing AI tools to produce production-grade, secure infrastructure.
Required: 7+ years in infrastructure, platform, or DevOps engineering with hands-on experience on Azure, Kubernetes, Postgres, and data warehousing. 3+ years managing engineers or engineering managers. Strong foundation in cloud infrastructure, containerization, and modern DevOps practices.
