Veeam, the Data and AI Trust Company, is seeking a Director of Performance and Reliability to own the Universal Connector Framework for Veeam Data Command Center. You will lead the engineering team responsible for building and operating integrations across SaaS, IaaS, and AI platforms, maintaining visibility and control as data and AI usage expands across diverse tools and environments. In this role, you will set the technical strategy and architecture for a scalable, flexible connector platform supporting integrations with Snowflake, Salesforce, Databricks, Microsoft 365, and vector databases like Pinecone and Milvus. Your connectors will discover sensitive data, collect access and permission details, and monitor GenAI-related activity to support consistent visibility and governance. Key responsibilities include owning the connector framework roadmap, leading and growing a team of senior engineers through hiring and mentorship, and building an AI-first engineering practice leveraging tools like Claude Code, Cursor, and Copilot with appropriate guardrails. You will create reusable "Claude skills" and workflows to standardize connector patterns, authentication flows, and metadata normalization, accelerating integration development. You will improve AI-driven discovery by driving LLM-based detection for Shadow AI in third-party applications and building telemetry ingestion for AISPM (AI Security Posture Management). Working with the graph platform, you'll ensure connectors extract and normalize metadata, permissions (ACLs), and lineage into the centralized platform. You will also deliver high-scale, resilient scanning by guiding distributed workers in Go and/or Python that scan large environments across hybrid cloud without disrupting source systems, with strong authentication support and self-healing behavior. Required qualifications: 10+ years in backend or data engineering focused on integrations, ETL, or API-first systems, plus 4+ years leading engineering teams. Proven experience architecting and shipping connectors or integration platforms for major SaaS and cloud ecosystems at scale. Strong skills in Go and/or Python for high-concurrency and high-throughput work. Deep understanding of distributed systems, microservices, REST/GraphQL APIs, and message brokers like Kafka or RabbitMQ. Solid data fundamentals across SQL and NoSQL, with graph databases (Neo4j, Neptune) a plus. Hands-on experience with AI-assisted development tools and the judgment to guide team adoption. Bonus skills include experience leading SDKs or developer platforms, familiarity with identity and permission models in enterprise tools, performance profiling expertise, MCP and custom-agent development, and background in security, privacy, or AISPM.
