Turing is hiring a Director of Security Investigations to build and lead the function that investigates fraud, insider threats, and misconduct across the company. This is a senior leadership role responsible for standing up a rigorous, fair, and discreet investigations program that protects the company and customers while treating all parties with integrity and due process.
You will lead a team of investigators and analysts, own the insider threat and fraud programs, and partner closely with Legal, HR, Security Engineering, and executive leadership. The role requires balancing sharp investigative instincts with sound judgment, strong process discipline, and careful handling of sensitive information.
Key responsibilities include:
- Building, leading, and growing the security investigations team while setting strategy for the function
- Owning the insider threat program: detection, triage, investigation, and response to risks posed by employees, contractors, and trusted insiders
- Leading complex fraud investigations from detection through resolution, partnering with relevant teams to close enabling gaps
- Establishing investigation standards, playbooks, evidence handling, and case management practices that withstand legal and regulatory scrutiny
- Partnering with Legal, HR, and Compliance on sensitive matters to ensure investigations are fair, well-documented, and privileged where appropriate
- Working with Detection & Response and Security Engineering to build telemetry and tooling needed to surface insider and fraud signals
- Managing escalations and briefing executive leadership on significant cases and program health
- Tracking trends across investigations to drive systemic prevention, not just case-by-case resolution

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Extensive experience in investigations (insider threat, fraud, corporate/security investigations, or law enforcement), including team leadership experience (typically 10+ years total, with management experience)
- Proven track record running complex, sensitive investigations end-to-end with sound judgment and discretion
- Strong understanding of insider threat and fraud detection, including data sources, signals, and tooling
- Experience partnering with Legal and HR on sensitive matters, with familiarity of evidence handling, chain of custody, and documentation standards
- Excellent judgment, discretion, and ethics; ability to navigate ambiguous, high-stakes situations fairly
- Strong communication skills and executive presence
Nice to have: Relevant certifications (CFE, PCI, or similar) or legal/forensics background; experience building an insider threat program from the ground up; familiarity with UEBA, DLP, and security data pipelines; experience in regulated or high-trust industries.
