Ocrolus is an AI-powered workflow and analytics platform for lenders, processing nearly one million credit applications monthly. The company combines state-of-the-art AI models with human-in-the-loop verification to capture financial document data with over 99% accuracy, serving 400+ customers including Better Mortgage, Brex, Enova, PayPal, Plaid, SoFi, and Square.
As Director of Product for Mortgage, you'll lead strategy and execution across Ocrolus's largest and fastest-growing business unit. You'll partner directly with the VP of Mortgage Product to drive a unified product vision, own a portfolio of mortgage products that move the business, and shape how AI automates the mortgage manufacturing workflow while keeping humans in control of critical decisions.
Key responsibilities include: partnering with leadership to coordinate priorities and present unified strategy to customers and stakeholders; owning strategy, roadmap, and delivery for a significant mortgage product portfolio; driving AI-first automation across the mortgage process with human-in-the-loop accuracy as standard; collaborating with engineering, AI/ML, and design teams to ship and iterate rapidly; translating agency guidelines (Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, FHA, VA, USDA) and lender workflows into intuitive product experiences; partnering with Sales, Account Management, Customer Enablement, Implementations, and Marketing on launches and adoption; and establishing strong product management practices using customer insight, data, and clear success metrics.
You'll bring 8+ years in product with substantial experience building mortgage or mortgage-tech products (POS, LOS, origination, underwriting automation, income/doc verification, agency integrations). Deep mortgage fluency is essential—understanding loan manufacturing, agency guidelines, underwriting workflows, and lender pain points. You're a builder who ships fast and to a high bar, prototyping with engineers rather than writing specs from a distance. You have hands-on AI/ML experience, ideally in lending, document processing, or underwriting, and a track record of products used at scale with measurable impact. You demonstrate grit and ownership, pushing through ambiguity and driving outcomes. You're intellectually curious, dig into how things work, and question assumptions. You have cross-functional leadership skills, aligning engineering, ML, ops, and GTM teams, and have mentored or managed PMs.
Nice-to-have qualifications include Certified Mortgage Banker (CMB) certification, experience with Encompass/ICE, Fannie Mae DU, Freddie Mac LPA, or ULDD, time at a modern mortgage-tech or AI-lending company, and experience shipping to mortgage lenders as customers.
