Bankjoy, a Y Combinator and Bessemer Venture Partner-backed fintech startup, is seeking a Director of Partnerships to build and scale its channel partnership ecosystem. The company provides modern digital banking solutions—including mobile banking, online banking, account opening, loan origination, and conversational AI—to community banks and credit unions.
In this role, you will drive revenue through strategic relationships with core banking partners, resellers, and referral networks. Success is measured by the volume and quality of leads generated through channel partners and the resulting revenue. You will serve as the primary relationship owner for Bankjoy's partners, maintaining regular touchpoints, tracking engagement, and ensuring long-term productivity.
Key responsibilities include identifying and recruiting new channel partners (core banking system providers, resellers, fintech ecosystem players); structuring mutually beneficial partnership agreements with clear incentives; building a robust pipeline of inbound leads from credit unions and community banks; and maintaining partner relationships through regular communication and industry event participation. You will collaborate closely with Sales to ensure clean lead handoff and tracking, and partner with Marketing on co-marketing materials, webinars, and joint campaigns. You'll also develop and own Bankjoy's channel partnership strategy, identifying high-ROI partner categories and optimizing the partner mix based on performance metrics.
The ideal candidate brings 5+ years of channel partnerships, business development, or strategic alliances experience in fintech, banking technology, or financial services. You should have established relationships within the credit union or community banking ecosystem and familiarity with core banking providers (Corelation, Jack Henry, Fiserv, CU*Answers). You must demonstrate a proven track record of building channel partnerships that generate measurable revenue, strong commercial instincts for structuring mutual-value arrangements, and excellent relationship management skills. Experience working closely with Sales teams, comfort in high-growth resource-constrained environments, and strong communication abilities are essential. Nice-to-have qualifications include existing relationships with major banking networks, experience with reseller or white-label agreements, familiarity with digital banking platforms, and CRM proficiency (Salesforce).
