Quindar is seeking a Director of IT to lead and scale the corporate IT function in a hands-on player-coach capacity. This role is responsible for delivering reliable, secure, and responsive IT support across the unclassified environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and scale the corporate IT team while remaining hands-on when needed
- Establish measurable SLAs and build a culture of responsive, proactive support
- Standardize IT systems, configurations, tools, and processes to improve reliability and scalability
- Manage an agile team including sprint planning, backlog review, and daily standups for enterprise projects such as GCC-H migration
- Own the IT roadmap and major projects with clear milestones, owners, risks, and committed dates
- Drive permanent fixes through root-cause analysis rather than recurring workarounds
- Own Tier 1 and Tier 2 support, employee onboarding/offboarding, endpoint management, office IT, enterprise software administration, and remote employee support
- Partner with Cybersecurity to execute CUI hardening, patching, endpoint compliance, and related controls
- Own incident response for corporate IT issues with clear communication through resolution
- Build on-site IT capability to support growth in Washington, DC
- Hold the team and vendors accountable for service quality, execution, and outcomes
The role does not own classified or SCIF networks but will work closely with IT Engineering and Cybersecurity. Success is measured by employee trust in IT, reliable systems with permanent fixes, met SLAs, on-time project delivery, and clear team communication and ownership.
Requirements:
- Organized and assertive leader with mentoring and team-building experience
- Experience leading corporate IT in a growing technology, aerospace, defense, government contracting, or similarly complex organization
- Strong background in Tier 1/2 support, endpoint management, identity and access, enterprise software administration, and office IT
- Proven ability to manage people, projects, vendors, and competing priorities while remaining technically hands-on
- Strong customer-service mindset with high standards for communication, ownership, and follow-through
- Experience with CUI, NIST SP 800-171, or CMMC preferred
- Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. lawful permanent resident, Refugee, or Asylee, or be eligible to obtain required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State (ITAR requirement)
