BillionToOne, a publicly traded Nasdaq company, is seeking a Director of IT to lead and oversee the company's DevOps and IT strategy. Reporting to the VP of IT/IS, this director-level role is responsible for developing and implementing IT strategies aligned with the company's scaling goals in precision diagnostics and genomics.
Key responsibilities include leading and managing the IT team while fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement. The director will oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of the company's cloud infrastructure, ensuring it operates as a service for the organization. This includes managing AWS cloud infrastructure (EC2, S3, RDS, VPC) with focus on scalability, performance, security, and cost optimization.
Networking and infrastructure management are core responsibilities, including ensuring reliability and security of networking systems, managing network configuration and performance monitoring, overseeing server and storage setup and maintenance, and implementing disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
Security and compliance are critical, with the director responsible for maintaining IT security measures, ensuring compliance with HIPAA, SOC 2, and other industry standards, and conducting regular security audits and vulnerability assessments. The role also involves leading IT projects from conception through completion, managing vendor relationships, overseeing IT support functions, and maintaining IT asset inventory and lifecycle processes.
The position is hybrid, requiring onsite presence 2-3 days per week at either Menlo Park or Union City, CA locations. The ideal candidate will have 8+ years of IT experience with at least 3 years in a managerial or leadership role, extensive networking and infrastructure expertise, deep AWS knowledge, and strong security/compliance background.
