Datarails is seeking a Director of Growth Ventures to lead zero-to-one growth initiatives and innovative distribution strategies. This role operates as an internal startup, partnering directly with the Co-Founder to discover, prototype, and scale entirely new growth loops beyond traditional performance marketing channels.
You will start as an individual contributor with complete end-to-end ownership—from strategic hypothesis through hands-on execution. As you validate new channels and demonstrate success, you will build and lead dedicated teams behind scaled ventures.
Key responsibilities include:
- Brainstorming, building, and launching high-upside growth initiatives and non-traditional marketing channels
- Rapid prototyping and experimentation at high velocity, leveraging technical skills and modern growth tools to build lightweight solutions independently
- Identifying untapped market opportunities, novel growth loops, and emerging platforms to diversify acquisition beyond established channels
- Analyzing experiment outcomes, building tracking mechanisms, and conducting deep product/marketing analytics to validate unit economics and long-term viability
You bring 5+ years of growth strategy, innovation, or venture-building experience in fast-paced tech companies or venture-backed startups. You have hands-on expertise with AI systems, autonomous AI agents, LLM integrations, and modern protocols like MCP. Your technical fluency spans web frameworks, APIs, automation platforms (Make/Zapier), SQL, and scripting—enabling you to build and deploy solutions without relying on core engineering resources.
You operate with a founder mindset: high agency, extreme adaptability, and relentless bias for action. You combine creative, out-of-the-box thinking with rigorous analytical modeling and hypothesis testing. You understand tech growth trends and modern digital distribution strategies deeply, and you thrive in high-ambiguity, fast-moving startup environments.
