The Director of FP&A and Investor Relations will serve as a strategic finance leader and partner to the CFO, CEO, Board and leadership team. This is a high-impact role combining financial planning, analysis and investor relations—not a traditional budgeting and reporting function.
Key responsibilities include:
- Owning annual budgeting, long-range planning, rolling forecasts and reforecast cycles with disciplined forecast accuracy and clear full-year landing views
- Leading monthly performance reviews across revenue, ARR, gross profit, margins, EBITDA, OPEX, cash flow, headcount and key operating metrics
- Translating financial results into concise executive insights: what changed, why, what it means, and recommended actions
- Building driver-based financial models and base/upside/downside scenarios to support strategic and operating decisions
- Acting as senior finance partner to Commercial, Product, Technology, Operations and People teams, challenging assumptions and improving resource allocation
- Strengthening governance around OPEX, headcount, CAPEX and strategic investments with clear ownership and accountability
- Evaluating pricing, new products, geographic expansion, partnerships, major commercial initiatives and M&A opportunities through robust business cases and post-investment reviews
- Upgrading FP&A systems, reporting and automation to reduce manual spreadsheet-heavy processes and scale with company growth
- Serving as key point of contact for existing and prospective investors, lenders and external financial stakeholders
- Preparing Board decks, investor updates, quarterly/annual reporting packages and ad-hoc materials that clearly articulate company performance, strategy and outlook
- Managing capital-raise narrative and supporting materials (data rooms, financial models, KPI packs) in partnership with CFO/CEO during fundraising or strategic transactions
- Owning investor reporting calendar, ensuring timely, accurate and consistent communication of financial and operating results
- Tracking investor sentiment, market trends, comparable company performance and industry benchmarks relevant to SaaS/fintech/payments to inform positioning
- Coordinating due diligence processes with investors, auditors and advisors, ensuring data integrity and consistency
- Using Claude AI to accelerate performance analysis, scenario modelling, business cases and management commentary
- Interrogating large financial and operating datasets to identify drivers, anomalies, trends, risks and opportunities
- Creating repeatable AI workflows or agents for recurring FP&A tasks and ad-hoc executive analysis
- Combining Claude with Excel/Google Sheets, BI tools, SQL, planning systems and other finance technology
- Defining where AI should automate work, where human judgment remains essential, and how outputs should be validated
Requirements:
- 10-15+ years of relevant experience in FP&A, commercial finance, business finance or strategic finance with meaningful leadership responsibility
- Professional qualification is mandatory: active CMA certification or CFA charter
- Demonstrated strong understanding of both SaaS and Fintech industries, including recurring-revenue economics, retention, churn, unit economics, payments economics, margins and key operating drivers of technology-enabled financial services
- Demonstrated current and sophisticated use of Claude in day-to-day finance work; basic AI exposure is not sufficient
- Direct partnership with senior executives and experience presenting to Executive Committee, Board and investor audiences
- Advanced Excel/Google Sheets skills; BI, SQL, planning tool and finance automation experience are highly desirable
