Rula is a remote-first mental health company seeking a Director of Finance Systems to own the technology infrastructure behind accounting and financial reporting. This role sits at the intersection of finance, systems, and AI, with responsibility for shaping how a fast-growing healthtech company runs its finances.
You will oversee core finance systems including NetSuite, Ramp, Zip, FloQast, and revenue reporting tools. Key responsibilities include:
• Owning and optimizing the technology stack that supports Rula's accounting and financial reporting processes
• Serving as project manager for new system launches, updates, and integrations
• Partnering with Engineering to embed Finance requirements into product development from the start
• Setting the company's approach to AI in accounting: designing how the Accounting team builds agents, where they run, how they integrate with NetSuite, and what safeguards ensure accuracy and audit readiness
• Leading the build-out of IT General Controls (ITGC) and financial systems controls that scale with business growth
• Designing and maintaining user access controls, change management, and system operations for audit-ready environments
• Governing the chart of accounts and building reports/saved searches in NetSuite for accounting users
• Translating technical systems, risks, and tradeoffs clearly to non-technical stakeholders
You will report directly to the Controller and collaborate closely with Accounting, FP&A, Financial Operations, Procurement, Product, Engineering, and Analytics teams.

REQUIREMENTS:
• 10+ years of experience in finance systems, accounting systems, or ERP administration, including hands-on ownership of NetSuite in a growing company
• Led at least one finance system implementation or post-go-live stabilization from requirements through testing, cutover, and support
• Hands-on experience designing, implementing, or maintaining IT general controls (user access, change management, system operations) for systems used in financial reporting, in an audit-ready environment
• Owned or governed a chart of accounts and built reports or saved searches in NetSuite or comparable ERP
• Track record of partnering with Accounting, Procurement, and Engineering or Product teams to turn business needs into system workflows and integrations
• Ability to explain technical systems, risks, and tradeoffs clearly to non-technical colleagues in writing and conversation
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Experience building or deploying AI agents or automated workflows in finance/accounting, including permissions, human review, and audit logging
• Experience implementing or administering procurement/spend platforms (Zip, Coupa, Ramp)
• Experience with healthcare billing or revenue cycle systems (claims, remittances, contractual adjustments)
• Working knowledge of SQL or SuiteQL, and planning/reporting tools such as Pigment or Hex
• Relevant credentials: NetSuite Administrator or ERP Consultant certification, CPA, or CISA
• Background in high-growth startup or digital health company
