Salary: USD 366,300 - 680,200 / annual
Veeam, the Data and AI Trust Company, is seeking a Director of Engineering to lead the PrivacyOps Platform division. This is a hands-on technical leadership role managing multiple cross-functional engineering modules responsible for end-to-end delivery of privacy-focused products including Cookie Consent, Assessments, Data Subject Request (DSR) Fulfillment, Breach Management, and Privacy Notices.
You will provide overarching technical leadership for the Securiti Product Suite, defining technical vision, ensuring architectural consistency across modules, and driving operational excellence. Working in partnership with senior engineering leads managing specific products, you'll focus on cross-team strategy, unified architectural standards, and collaboration with Product Management to deliver a cohesive platform experience.
Key responsibilities include: actively participating in architectural reviews and code sessions to ensure scalable, reliable systems; building an AI-first engineering practice using tools like Cursor and Copilot; owning the architecture and roadmap for a scalable integration and connector framework; representing engineering in customer interactions; and mentoring senior engineering leads to scale the platform while fostering technical excellence.
You'll drive product delivery across critical modules including DSR automation for fulfilling data subject requests, consent lifecycle management across jurisdictions, assessment automation for privacy risk evaluation, and breach/incident response automation. Close collaboration with Product Management is essential to align engineering execution with business strategy.
Required qualifications: proven experience with Go and/or Python for high-concurrency, high-throughput backend systems; strong distributed systems expertise including microservices, REST/GraphQL APIs, and message brokers like Kafka; experience leading SDK or integration platform development; hands-on experience with AI-assisted development workflows; proven track record managing and growing high-performing engineering teams; deep understanding of PrivacyOps and global privacy regulations (GDPR, CCPA, etc.); and ability to balance hands-on technical contribution with strategic leadership.
