Salary: USD 210,000 - 300,000 / annual

Mesh is a crypto payments infrastructure company enabling consumers to pay and be paid with any asset. The company combines an orchestration engine with a consumer app to unlock liquidity for tokenized assets, backed by PayPal Ventures, Paradigm, and Galaxy Ventures. As Director of Engineering for the Onchain team, you will lead the full-stack Web3 engineering organization building products and infrastructure powering Mesh's crypto payments platform. This spans client-facing wallet connection flows and dashboards, backend transaction processing, multi-chain infrastructure, and on/off-ramp systems. Key responsibilities include: - Owning technical strategy for Web3 initiatives, translating company priorities into multi-quarter execution plans - Building, managing, and growing a team of senior and staff-level engineers; hiring, coaching, and setting career paths - Leading design and technical direction for complex workflows spanning wallets, transactions, settlements, and on-chain/off-chain orchestration - Owning planning and delivery of multi-chain integrations, wallet infrastructure (self-custody and MPC/custodial), RPC node management, and on-chain transaction monitoring - Partnering with Product, Design, Compliance, Legal, and cross-functional teams to translate ambiguous requirements into coherent technical roadmaps - Representing engineering in executive-level planning, influencing company-wide roadmap decisions and resourcing Required qualifications: - 5+ years managing engineering teams with a track record of scaling teams and organizational structure - 8+ years overall engineering experience including production work across frontend, backend, and on-chain components in Web3/blockchain contexts - Hands-on experience with Web3 building blocks: wallet connectivity/integrations, dApp development, blockchain RPCs and indexing, on-chain/off-chain payment and settlement flows - Familiarity with DeFi primitives (DEXs, swaps, lending, trading platforms) and production system operations - Strong understanding of transaction lifecycle (signing, submission, execution) and security-first mindset - Experience setting engineering standards across stacks spanning TypeScript/React, backend services (Go, Rust, Java/Scala, Node.js), and smart contracts/Solidity - Expertise in building scalable, reliable, observable distributed systems with strong reliability standards - Comfort operating in ambiguity within fast-moving, regulated fintech environments with cross-border collaboration (teams span North America, Europe, India) Mesh is headquartered in San Francisco and operates as a global company.
