Twelve Labs is building the intelligence layer for video understanding. The company's multimodal AI models understand video across sight, sound, and motion, powering production-scale AI workloads across media, entertainment, sports, security, and government. With $210M+ in funding from NEA, Radical Ventures, Amazon, NVIDIA, Snowflake, and others, Twelve Labs is headquartered in San Francisco with offices in Seoul, New York, and London. As Director of Engineering, Customer Deployments and Partner Integrations, you will lead the engineering organization responsible for deploying Twelve Labs technology securely and reliably into customer and partner environments. You own the engineering strategy and execution for deployments across hyperscalers, private cloud, on-premise, and complex enterprise environments. Key responsibilities include: Customer Deployment: Own the full engineering lifecycle from technical discovery and architecture through implementation, production launch, and ongoing operations. Lead deployments across public cloud, customer VPCs, private cloud, and on-premise infrastructure. Partner directly with strategic customers and their engineering, infrastructure, security, and IT teams. Establish technical standards, tooling, and playbooks to make deployments predictable and repeatable. Turn recurring requirements into scalable product capabilities. Integrations & Enterprise Architecture: Own the engineering strategy for integrating Twelve Labs into customers' existing technology ecosystems. Build scalable integration patterns across enterprise applications, data platforms, storage systems, identity and access management, APIs, and AI/ML infrastructure. Translate recurring customer requirements into reusable platform capabilities. Establish standards and tooling for faster, more reliable, increasingly self-service integrations. Balance customer-specific needs with long-term architecture to prevent one-off integrations. Deployment Automation & Developer Experience: Build tooling, automation, and internal platforms for provisioning, configuring, upgrading, integrating, and operating customer environments. Develop architectures that move from bespoke implementations toward repeatable, highly automated capabilities. Establish strong CI/CD, release management, configuration management, and observability practices. Create exceptional internal developer experience. Product & Engineering Partnership: Work closely with Product and Engineering leadership to incorporate deployment and integration requirements into product architecture. Identify recurring friction and turn insights into product improvements. Partner with Research and ML teams on operational requirements for serving multimodal models in production. Help define the technical roadmap for deployment and integration infrastructure. Cross-Functional Leadership: Serve as senior technical partner to Solutions Engineering, Sales, and Product on complex customer opportunities. This is a highly cross-functional, customer-facing engineering leadership role requiring comfort with both deep technical architecture work and building scalable systems and processes.
