We are seeking a Director of Engineering to lead and grow our engineering team in India. You will oversee an initial team of 5 engineers across product development, SRE, and InfoSec, with the opportunity to scale as the organization expands.
Key responsibilities include owning the technical roadmap for products, solutions, and internal tools while ensuring scalable, secure, and performant delivery. You will manage, mentor, and scale the engineering team, fostering a culture of continuous learning and high technical standards. Cross-functional collaboration with US-based product, data science, infrastructure, and executive teams is essential to align engineering efforts with strategic business goals. You will implement best practices for engineering workflows, including scalability, observability, incident response, and reliability. Additionally, you will drive innovative architectural decisions and platform evolution to support product differentiation and speed to market.
Required qualifications include 5+ years of experience leading engineering teams managing 10+ people, ideally in fast-growth tech environments. You must have hands-on technical fluency in Python, Golang, React, and AWS, with the ability to contribute credibly to system design discussions. Experience building teams in India for US-based organizations is required. A proven track record of building and scaling high-functioning teams with strong hiring and retention standards is essential. Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate across product, data, and executive functions are critical. Experience with API-based SaaS products is a plus, as is background in fintech, fraud/risk, or identity systems.
You will report to the Chief Technology Officer (US-based) and work in a hybrid model with expected in-office presence in Gurugram or Bengaluru. The role offers autonomy with responsibility, high visibility, and meaningful outcomes within a collaborative, transparent culture focused on grit and impactful products.
