HiddenLayer is seeking a Director of Engineering to lead large-scale engineering initiatives across multiple teams. This role sits at the intersection of technical leadership and strategic vision, requiring oversight of complex projects, senior engineering talent, and innovation in AI security and adversarial defense systems.
You will oversee the performance and output of multiple engineering teams, ensuring projects execute effectively and align with company goals. You'll provide guidance and mentorship to engineering managers and senior technical staff. Working closely with the VP of Engineering and senior leadership, you'll develop engineering strategy and roadmap while shepherding systems and processes through an ongoing agentic AI transformation.
Key responsibilities include managing large-scale, complex engineering projects with focus on delivery, scope, and quality; driving innovation in agentic loop engineering and system architecture; establishing and tracking KPIs for engineering teams; and continuously optimizing engineering workflows, development processes, and tools. You'll act as the engineering liaison across product, design, operations, and other business units, ensuring technical solutions meet business needs.
You'll build and scale engineering talent, providing mentorship to engineering directors and senior technical staff. You'll identify potential technical risks, work proactively to mitigate them, and provide solutions for complex technical challenges.
