Salary: USD 214,000 - 335,000 / annual
Addepar is seeking a Director of Engineering to lead the Institutions Engineering Team, overseeing investor solutions and research product suite technology delivery across the Institutional segment. You will lead a multi-disciplinary team of software engineers, platform architects, and engineering managers, driving engineering leadership and execution of complex product roadmaps.
Key responsibilities include establishing clear engineering goals, operational metrics, and delivery standards aligned with company objectives while building a high-performing engineering culture. You'll collaborate with Engineering, Product, and Design leadership to drive Addepar's strategy across engineering organizations and establish the technical vision for all products within the Institutional segment.
On the technology and product delivery side, you'll partner closely with Product Management, Design, and GTM teams to define, prioritize, and execute product roadmaps. You'll implement robust Agile software development practices to ensure predictable, high-quality, and timely releases. You'll guide architectural decisions to ensure scalable, secure, and resilient system design suitable for institutional security and compliance standards, and champion engineering best practices including automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, and robust monitoring/observability platforms.
The ideal candidate brings 8+ years of engineering leadership experience with a track record of managing managers, architects, and software engineers. You should have proven experience delivering enterprise/institutional software platforms with stringent security, regulatory, and uptime requirements. Deep familiarity with modern cloud architecture, microservices, API design, data pipelines, and enterprise security frameworks is essential. Additionally, 5+ years of experience with financial risk frameworks and asset management in either a SaaS environment or financial institutions is required. A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience is expected.
